Summary

REL Northwest developed a handout to share evidence-based literacy resources for K–12 educators to support the implementation of literacy practices and summarize findings from high-quality research. The handout includes information and file links for four categories of resources: What Works Clearinghouse practice guides, What Works Clearinghouse literacy intervention reports, additional REL resources, and specific state resources.

REL Northwest synthesized this information for a Northwest-specific Literacy Policy Community of Practice, which convenes literacy leaders from state education agencies in the REL Northwest region. For one session in which this handout was used, REL Northwest facilitated a discussion about how state agencies have translated state guidance and recommendations into teacher implementation of evidence-based practices in schools and districts.
