Mapping Our Way to Academic Success - Using Innovation Configuration (IC) Maps: Training Materials

These training materials include a PowerPoint presentation and handouts that introduce the purpose and structure of Innovation Configuration (IC) maps and how they can be used for both research and professional learning. The materials describe how REL Appalachia partnered with educators in eastern Kentucky to develop an IC map that specifies expectations for high-quality mathematics instructions and can improve teacher practice. These materials were originally presented at the Berea Rural College Access and Success Summit in Lexington, Kentucky in April 2019. The Rural College Access and Success Summit brings together teachers, principals, superintendents, legislators, non-profit leaders and many others to share ideas and strategies to ensure that rural youth have the opportunity to successfully transition from high school to college and careers.
