Webinar: Collaborative Survey Practices to Achieve High Response Rates

REL Northwest
Publication date:
May 2023

Summary

REL Northwest's May 2023 webinar, aimed at state and district leaders and staff interested in developing and administering a large-scale survey, describes actionable strategies to achieve a high response rate and valuable lessons learned.

Download our handout below that covers steps and strategies and questions to ask during your survey development.

At the midway point of the webinar, you can view each of the three breakout sessions that covered:

  • Co-creating survey tools.
  • Supports needed from state agencies.
  • Developing a survey administration plan.

The webinar was based on REL Northwest's work with the Alaska Department of Education and Early Development (AK DEED) and its partners. In 2019, AK DEED distributed Transforming Schools: A Framework for Trauma-Engaged Practices in Alaska to schools and districts around the state. In 2022, REL Northwest supported AK DEED in developing and administering a statewide survey to understand how schools use the resources and implement trauma-engaged approaches. The collaborative survey effort garnered responses from nearly 60 percent of public schools in Alaska.
