Time: 12:00-3:00 pm Eastern
Location: Boston Public Schools Central Office 2300 Washington St., Roxbury, MA 02119
Description: This workshop will support the Boston Public Schools (BPS) to develop a clear theory of action and accompanying logic model for the district-wide mentoring program for beginning teachers. Using materials from the REL Northeast & Islands Logic Model Workshop Toolkit, facilitators will support staff members of BPS's New Teacher Development Program to clearly articulate the relationship between the program components and activities and its anticipated short- and long-term outcomes. Participants will build the elements of a draft logic model for their beginning teacher mentoring program, and will develop concrete next steps for completing a draft logic model within one month of the workshop. The logic model will serve as a framework to prepare stakeholders for participation in subsequent data coaching, provided by REL Northeast & Islands.
Partnership or Research Alliance: Effective Professional Development Research Alliance
Audience: The primary audience for the training is BPS staff responsible for the district's new teacher mentoring program and for teachers' professional development, including the coordinator of new teacher development, the director of teacher leadership, the director of leadership strategy, and full- and part-time new teacher developers.
