Time: 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Eastern
Location: Vermont Agency of Education Barre, Vermont
Description: This pilot workshop will provide participating teams from local educational agencies (LEAs) in Vermont with step-by-step guidance, along with tools and resources, on using data to make decisions to improve educational outcomes. The Vermont Agency of Education is developing an online data dashboard, called the Education Quality Review (EQR) Annual Snapshot, which will provide LEAs with data at the district, school, and student levels on a variety of topics, including academic proficiency, personalization, high-quality staffing, safe and healthy students, and efficient use of resources. The EQR Annual Snapshot is currently under development by a third-party vendor and will be available for use by December 2018. At the pilot workshop, participants will be guided in using data they might expect to find in the EQR Annual Snapshot to inform decisions on school and district improvement. Feedback on the tools and resources shared at the pilot workshop will inform a subsequent workshop in January or February 2019 when the EQR Annual Snapshot is functional.
Audience: Participants will include representatives of three or more LEAs throughout Vermont. Each LEA was advised to bring a team comprised of a director of curriculum and instruction, a school-level administrator, and a school-based counselor. The Vermont Agency of Education has capped participation in the pilot workshop at 10 LEA teams.
