Six Ways to Increase Student Engagement In-person and Virtually

Teachers today want to know how to keep kids motivated to learn in person or online. Together with the New Jersey Department of Education, REL Mid-Atlantic identified six promising ways to increase student engagement in person and virtually: 1. Keep instructional delivery focused. 2. Make technology easier to use. 3. Invest in teacher success. 4. Keep families in the loop. 5. Facilitate virtual extracurricular activities. 6. Make time and space for social and emotional learning.
