Using Data to Support Transfer Student Success

REL Northwest
Publication date:
December 2021

Summary

Nationally, only a third of two-year college students transfer to a four-year college, and less than half of those students go on to earn a bachelor's degree. This eight-minute video describes how data-sharing agreements between two-year and four-year colleges can give both entities a better understanding of transfer student outcomes and lead to better support for these students, many of whom come from low-income backgrounds. The video highlights a data-sharing project facilitated by Regional Educational Laboratory Northwest and involving the Montana University System and Stone Child College, a two-year Tribal college on the Rocky Boy's Indian Reservation.
