REL Midwest Event: Making Connections: Pathways and Supports for College Readiness

REL Midwest and the Indiana University School Administrators Association (IUSAA) are co-hosting a half-day conference designed to provide educators and stakeholders with information from research and practices emerging in the field on college readiness efforts. Participants will become familiar with research-based strategies designed to prepare students for college that are available to practitioners to help them improve student preparation for, and access to, higher education.

This event will feature a presentation by William Tierney, Ph.D., Professor of Higher Education, and Director of the Center for Higher Education Policy Analysis, who will discuss the research-based strategies from the IES Practice Guide titled Navigating the Path to College: What High Schools Can Do. The event will also feature a moderated panel discussion on college and career readiness strategies and their implementation in the region. This event is designed to address the U.S. Department of Education’s priority area on college and career success.

Audience: Approximately 26–50 attendees.
