REL Northeast & Islands Event: Student Voices: Perspectives on Antiracism in Schools

Description: This webinar will present two examples of programs designed to identify and dismantle racism in schools, as well as a panel discussion in which students reflect on their experiences with antiracism work in their schools, including challenges and opportunities. Presenters will include Dr. Celeste Bowler, assistant superintendent from East Providence School District in Rhode Island, and Dr. Daryl Williams, education equity specialist from the Mid-Atlantic Equity Consortium, the Region 1 Equity Assistance Center. The student panel will include high school students from East Providence and Philadelphia.

Audience: This webinar is intended for educators interested in learning about programs that address racism in school. School and district staff, REL Governing Board members, as well as state and local education agency staff may be especially interested.
