Description: A recently published research study from REL Appalachia utilized Virginia’s state longitudinal data system (SLDS) to examine student outcomes in the years leading up to and after the state added a career and technical education credential requirement to one of its two main diploma types (the Standard diploma). This session will include a presentation about Virginia’s SLDS and the research study as well as a discussion with the director of research at the Virginia Department of Education about how stakeholders can use research partnerships to improve student outcomes.
