REL Central and REL West Event: Success and lessons learned: A district’s perspective on early warning systems

Description: The webinar will provide a case summary of one district’s personal use of an early warning system (EWS). Attendees will learn about Washoe County School District’s (Reno, NV) use of EWS, including how the need for EWS developed and steps they took to analyze student risk factors and develop early warning indicators. The webinar will also cover barriers and challenges encountered along the way. Attendees will learn one district’s development of EWS indicators and the interventions they chose for intervening with students identified at-risk.

Research Alliance: Systems Development and Improvement Research Alliance

Audience: The primary audience will be state-level, district-level, and school-level leaders who are interested in using EWS within their sites. The event will be co-sponsored with REL West. The audience will be recruited by announcing the webinar on REL West and REL Central’s website and by emailing RA members and the list of contacts each REL has (such as previous webinar attendees and website registrants).
