Description: This workshop is designed for participants in Maryland’s Leading for School Improvement Institute, a series of professional learning and supports for principals of low-performing schools. This workshop will focus on the topic of distributed leadership in turnaround schools. It will address the literature base on distributed leadership, discuss the use of a tool to observe distributed leadership in practice, and share lessons learned from applying distributed leadership practices in turnaround schools.
Partnership or Research Alliance: School support and improvement
Audience: The workshop is designed for principals of low performing schools. MSDE anticipates approximately 70-100 principals of low-performing schools to attend. These include principals of approximately 70 schools that have been participating in the Leading for School Improvement institute, as well as principals of newly identified CSI schools.
