REL Northwest Event: Increasing Equity Through Perspective-Taking, Empathy, and High Expectations

Description: Positive and caring teacher-student relationships foster student engagement and learning. This interactive session will share research and practical strategies on how educators can use perspective-taking and empathy to strengthen their relationships with students. Participants will also learn about evidence-based interventions that set high expectations and help students believe in their ability to succeed.

Partnership or Research Alliance: Equity in School Discipline Collaborative

Audience: Conference participants who are interested in using perspective-taking and empathy to help students succeed are encouraged to attend. This includes K-12 administrators, educators, coaches or other technical assistance providers, school counselors, higher education representatives, state education agency personnel, and district staff members.
