Description: This webinar will examine what social and emotional learning is, how it can be used to inform best practice in schools, and its potential impact on academic outcomes, including college and career readiness. The webinar will provide participants with a deeper understanding of the role that social and emotional competencies (SECs) and other “non-cognitive” skills play in student outcomes. In addition, participants will be able to learn about ways in which educators can promote SEL across various levels of the school system and gain insight into future directions for SEL research and practice.

Audience: The intended audience for this webinar includes members from each of the College and Career Readiness and Success Partnerships (Guam, Palau, FSM, CNMI, RMI, and American Samoa), and national and regional stakeholders interested in social and emotional learning and its connection to academic outcomes, including college and career readiness.
