Description: In this webinar, Eric Flowers, EdD of the Arkansas Department of Education and Candace Hester, PhD, of REL Southwest will discuss discipline-related results from a recent REL Southwest study, Identifying Indicators That Predict Postsecondary Readiness and Success in Arkansas. Two national experts in restorative justice and discipline, Robert Mayo, PhD, and David Osher, PhD, will take a deeper dive on disciplinary actions and the role they can play in educational equity, academic outcomes, and students’ learning and development. Representatives from the PBIS Resource Center at Arkansas State University, Highline Public Schools in Washington and Richland School District Two in South Carolina will reflect on the educative and restorative practices used in their districts and discuss how those approaches have affected student behavior and other outcomes.
