- 6–10 IES is exhibiting at the annual joint statistical meetings of the American Statistical Association in Seattle, WA. Stop by our booth; attend sessions where IES staff will be making presentations tied to the conference theme, Statistics in an Uncertain World: Meeting Global Challenges.
- 11–14 IES is exhibiting at the annual American Sociological Association conference in Montreal, Quebec, Canada. Stop by our booth to learn more about IES research activities, grant opportunities, and new publications.
Coming in the Fall!
- National Research Conference on Charter Schools . The IES-funded National Center on School Choice, Competition and Achievement is planning a 2-day conference on charter schools in Nashville, Tennessee. Charter school researchers in economics, law, political science, psychology, public finance, public policy, and sociology will be making presentations. The conference will take place on September 28-29, 2006. NCES Commissioner Mark Schneider will be the keynote speaker.
- National Symposium on Postsecondary Student Success will be held November 1-3 in Washington, DC. Hosted by the National Postsecondary Education Cooperative, the forum will examine what constitutes success and what factors have an impact on the chances of success for different types of students in different types of postsecondary institutions. The Cooperative is a voluntary partnership of postsecondary institutions, associations, government agencies, and organizations that receives funding from NCES.
