New Issues & Answers Reports

The Regional Educational Laboratory Program (REL) has released more than a dozen new Issues & Answers reports since August. Issues & Answers is a continuing series of reports from Fast Response Projects dealing with current education issues of importance at local, state, and regional levels. REL Midwest, for example, recently released Examining district guidance to schools on teacher evaluation policies in the Midwest Region, a descriptive study offering a snapshot of teacher evaluation policies across a demographically diverse sample of districts in the Midwest Region. The report aims to lay the groundwork for further research and to inform conversations about current policies at the local, district, and state levels. Other recent reports include The predictive validity of selected benchmark assessments used in the Mid-Atlantic Region, Using strategy instruction to help struggling high schoolers understand what they read (Central Region), and Reviewing the evidence on how teacher professional development affects student achievement (Southwest Region).
