Summer Forum and STATS-DC Data Conference

NCES is sponsoring a 2 1/2-day meeting of the National Forum on Education Statistics from July 25–29 at the Hyatt Regency Bethesda Hotel in Bethesda, Maryland. The conference will include training and business meetings for the Common Core of Data (CCD) and EDFacts data coordinators. In addition there will be informative sessions targeted toward interests in "101" introductory sessions, data collection and management, data dissemination, data linking beyond K–12, data privacy, data standards/quality, data usage, and finance.

2012 Funding Announcements and Webinars

IES recently released FY 2012 funding announcements for grant competitions in education and special education research and training. The six competitions are: Education Research Grants; Special Education Research Grants; Postdoctoral Research Training Program in the Education Sciences; Postdoctoral Research Training Program in Special Education; Statistical and Research Methodology in Education; and Evaluation of State and Local Education Programs and Policies. The request for applications for each competition is available at http://ies.ed.gov/funding/. Check the site for additional competition announcements.

In addition, IES's National Center for Special Education Research and the National Center for Education Research will host a series of webinars related to FY 2012 research funding opportunities. Browse to the Webinars page to find out about webinars scheduled for April and May.
