Help Them Focus on the Sounds that Make Up Language

Children are better prepared for reading if they can focus on sounds that make up language-phonological awareness. Research indicates that phonological awareness training was found to have potentially positive effects on communication/language competencies for children with learning disabilities in early education settings.

Incorporate Behavioral Therapy

At least one model of behavioral therapy has been tested and shown to have potentially positive effects on cognitive development for preschool children with disabilities.
