Objective: | The National Center for Education Research (NCER) in the Institute of Education Sciences (IES) of the U.S. Department of Education announces its fifth Summer Research Training Institute on Cluster-Randomized Trials to increase the national capacity of researchers to develop and conduct rigorous evaluations of the impact of education interventions. |

Location: | Northwestern University; Evanston, IL The Training Institute will be held at the Norris Center on the campus of Northwestern University. Northwestern University is located on the shore of Lake Michigan in the town of Evanston, just north of Chicago. Classroom instruction will take place in the Norris Center. Institute participants will be housed at the Hotel Orrington. The hotel is located within walking distance of Northwestern University. |

Training Institute Sponsor: | Northwestern University, with a grant from the Institute of Education Sciences, is providing support for this Summer Training Institute. |
Eligibility Requirements and Selection Criteria for Training Institute Fellows: |
Women, minorities, and individuals with disabilities are encouraged to apply. Postdoctoral fellows, junior researchers, and senior researchers who would benefit from the knowledge and skills addressed in the Summer Training Institute are encouraged to apply. If selected for participation in the Summer Training Institute, individuals who require reasonable accommodations for disabilities should contact Patti Ferguson at Northwestern University. | Costs and Stipends: | Northwestern University will pay for travel to and from the Summer Training Institute site, lodging, and meals on days of instruction, and for course materials. Summer Training Institute Fellows will be asked to pay a fee of $250.00 dollars to help defray the costs of the Summer Training Institute. Fellows are responsible for the cost of meals in transit (to and from the Summer Training Institute site) and on the weekend (June 25 – 26, 2011). |
