IES to Extend Funding Application Deadlines in Areas Impacted by Hurricanes Harvey and Irma

The Institute of Education Sciences (IES) intends to extend the deadline to submit applications for two of its research programs for eligible applicants located in areas that were impacted by Hurricanes Harvey and Irma.

The application deadline for the Fiscal Year 2018 Education Research and Development Centers competition (84.305C) and the Research Networks Focused on Critical Problems of Policy and Practice in Special Education competition (84.324N) is Thursday, September 21, 2017. IES intends to announce in an upcoming Federal Register Notice that it is extending the deadline to October 26, 2017 for applicants from counties that were hardest hit by Hurricanes Harvey and Irma.

Specifically, this extension applies only to areas that are Federally-declared disaster areas, as determined by the Federal Emergency Management Agency. This includes:

For qualified applicants in all other locations, the deadline remains September 21, 2017. A link to the Federal Register Notice will be placed on the IES Funding Opportunities website as soon as it is published, which is expected to be early in the week of September 25.
