Description: REL Midwest will host a 30-minute documentary screening on evidence-based practices to support Latino students on their pathway to a postsecondary education. Researchers Jennifer Trujillo and Awilda Rodriguez discuss instructional practices teachers can use to support Latino students in high school and strategies and approaches to encourage Latino student success in college. The program also features stories from students, families, and educators at Cesar Chavez High School in Detroit and Migrant Student Services at Michigan State University. This screening will provide an opportunity for educators, parents, and students to learn more about the best practices to support Latino students on their paths to a postsecondary education.
After the screening, REL Midwest will facilitate a panel discussion with individuals featured in the documentary. Attendees will have an opportunity to ask questions about the documentary, the research, and programs featured in the documentary.

Audience: The main audiences for the in-person screening will be individuals and organizations involved in supporting Latino students throughout their pathway to postsecondary education, including program staff, state and local education agency representatives, school leaders, teachers, higher education program staff, and researchers.
