Through previous research and development, the team created a prototype of a mobile app with games and puzzles for children on content aligned to early literacy and mathematics. The researchers will develop a prototype to assess children's performance during gameplay, and a dashboard to provide practitioners real-time data with recommendations for instructional adjustments and individualized support. At the end of Phase I, a pilot study will include 96 children in pre-kindergarten and 10 early childhood educators. The researchers will examine whether the assessment produces valid and reliable results, if early childhood educators can understand the results produced by the prototype dashboard and whether these results would be useful at providing information to guide instruction.
