Description: Approximately 20 collaborative members across the REL Appalachia (REL AP) states convened for the third meeting of the Cross-State Collaborative to Support Schools in the Opioid Crisis (CCSSOC). Two collaborative members from the Virginia Tiered Systems of Supports Research and Implementation Center (VTSS RIC) discussed the implementation of trauma-informed approaches using a tiered approach in school divisions across Virginia. CCSSOC members learned how to use a newly developed resource to help educators identify common symptoms of trauma in students and relevant classroom-based strategies to address these symptoms.
