Location: La Cosecha 2023 Dual Language Conference, Albuquerque Convention Center, Albuquerque, NM

Incorporating opportunities for teacher collaboration to improve instructional practice holds promise for improving educator effectiveness and student literacy outcomes for English learner students and K–12 students in general. During this in-person interactive workshop at the La Cosecha Dual Language Conference, presenters from the Regional Educational Laboratory (REL) Southwest and Rio Rancho Public Schools in New Mexico shared information about evidence-based approaches to teacher collaboration that can be used to improve instruction for English learner students in dual language programs. Participants walked through cycles of co-planning, co-teaching, co-assessing, and co-reflecting in a hands-on application using mock lesson materials. Participants received access to a collaboration framework and other evidence-based resources.
