Senior Research Analyst

As a Senior Research Analyst, Chun-Wei (Kevin) Huang works with REL West and external researchers to lead, design, and implement rigorous experimental trials as well as measurement/assessment projects funded by the U.S. Department of Education and the National Science Foundation. He also works with research alliances formed by the states or local education agency to plan and conduct studies to evaluate the statewide or district-wide policy in K-12 education.

Prior to WestEd, Chun-Wei worked at CTB/McGraw-Hill (now DRC/CTB) as a Research Scientist. He was involved in several projects including two statewide testing programs. His main responsibilities as a Research Project Manager were to lead and conduct psychometric analyses (e.g., test equating and scaling) in accordance with customers’ requirements. He has taught educational statistics at both the undergraduate and graduate levels at the University of Maryland, College Park.

Chun-Wei received a BS in psychology from Kaohsiung Medical University, a MA in psychology, and a PhD in educational and psychological measurement and applied statistics from the University of Maryland, College Park.
