Continuous Improvement

Applying a problem-solving approach that is centered on inquiry and learning to enact changes in education systems.

Improvement science is an approach to problem-solving centered on inquiry and learning. A core principle of improvement science is that a system’s performance is a result of its design and operation, not simply a result of individuals’ efforts within the system. Accordingly, improvement teams pursue a shared understanding about how their systems work, where breakdowns occur, and how to improve the component parts and their interconnections for better results. Change ideas are tested in data-driven rapid cycles, resulting in efficient and useful feedback to inform system improvements.
